After our initial idea of the “Mrs. Doubtfire Thriller spoof” we decided it might be a bit too difficult to make it effective, therefore we changed our idea. Instead, we are doing an opening to a thriller. We still don’t have a clear idea yet, but we were thinking about including flashbacks and a voice-over because of the power they have over the viewer as they allow you to get the point across without using actual dialogue. Quite a few films, e.g. Goodfellas, have used this technique and those films have become very successful in the film industry.

Our initial idea of genre was a spoof. We wanted our spoof to include a horror style opening where a teenager is in a house on their own. They begin to hear alarming noises that make them un-nerved. While the tension is rising at a speedy rate the teenager goes to investigate. They are un-successful in identifying the source of their fear so they return to the original room they were in. She then hears another final set of bangs and creaks so she turns round then suddenly ‘Mrs Doubtfire’ pops up from behind the sofa with her legendary cream cake mask!
Below is a storyboard of how the scene would begin.
